Frigid temps yield hot laps this weekend as NASA SE region debuts at 'Atlanta Motorsports Park' (AMP) for the very first time in history.
One hell of a weekend running laps around another new track, making AMP my 10th track raced. Sub 30F temps and morning snow fall on Saturday made for less than ideal conditions for Hoosiers but the TT5 field went guns up and blazed a path through the dense wooded hills of Georgia taking the weekends overall fastest lap times.
It was fun running to go toe-to-toe in TT5 with one of the regions fastest drivers in their ungodly BMW's. J. Kozlow and A. Schmidt have some serious talent out there and it was a pleasure driving AMP with them.
Overall I find AMP to be a direct comparison to a Go-cart track for full sized race cars. I appreciate the fine level of engineering that went into designing such a fun road coarse in the US. AMP makes for a thrilling "Balls-Out" experience.
Big thanks to the corner workers and safety crew track side that endured the 21F weather in maintaining a safe track weekend for NASA SE region. Glad to take 2nd place with a 1:29.96 PB in the Subaru BRZ and it was great seeing the peeps and connecting with new friends this weekend.
