The Hoosier R7 is a competition tire, a favorite for motorheads worldwide, crafted to deliver high levels of responsiveness and grip on a dry racetrack (except under near-freezing temperatures). The symmetric internal build of the R7 features a nylon cord reinforced by two lightweight steel belts and a spirally wrapped circumferential nylon cap under the tread. This symmetric tread design makes the tire suitable for both sides of the car. Its enhanced belt structure rubber compound makes the Hoosier R7 soft and sticky, increasing its capabilities for fast cornering and earning consistent lap time improvements for drivers.
The much-improved construction of the Hoosier R7 provides better steering response and stability than previous models, with increased grip and consistent performance. The R7 model features two Formula One style circumferential tread grooves. This tire does not require shaving for competition and benefits heat cycling, enhancing wear and consistency before the takeoff. Nevertheless, using Hoosier R7 on public roads represents a safety concern, as their design focus is winning races, not being a part of a daily driver.
