Barber Motorsports Park is the premium racing venue of the state of Alabama. It stands 18 miles east of downtown Birmingham, the biggest and most important city of "The Heart of Dixie," and features a 2.38-mile racetrack, several off-road and motocross courses, an obstacle course, and The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, the largest motorcycle museum in the world. The climate will largely depend on the season you visit this circuit: you could experience high summer temperatures or mild winter days with lots of rain.
The main racetrack has an average lap time of 1:42.914, with an average speed of 83 mph and lots of elevation changes for a total vertical gain of 80 feet. The Barber Motorsports Park hosts yearly racing events for IndyCar, GT3, MotoAmerica-Superbike, Formula 4, and many others. The mind behind the construction of this raceway is George W. Barber, a real-estate developer from Birmingham who used to be a racecar driver himself and owns the impressive collection of motorcycles displayed in the museum. The downhill left-hander turn 1, the hairpin turn number 5, or the Alabaman version of Laguna Seca's corkscrew are some of the track's signature features.
