The Serres Racing Circuit is a 1.98-mile (3.18-km) FIA Grade 4 road course operating since 1998 in the Greek city of Serres, Central Macedonia, 6 hours and a half north of Athens. It is the largest and most active racing circuit in Greece, with a varied array of motorsport competitions on schedule throughout the year. The skies around the track tend to be cloudy most of the year, and its asphalt surface is wet most of the time. Winters are cool but rarely freezing, and temperature/humidity is ideal for racing on the remaining seasons.
There are 16 corners with varying radius in the Serres circuit, the vast majority of which are fast-paced sweepers. The main straight offers the most overtaking opportunities, and the first hard braking spot comes right at the end of it. Turns one and two form a combination of 90-degree corners, followed by two left-hander sweepers (turns three and four). Corner number five is the tightest in Serres, and a quick acceleration sector starts right at its exit. Turns six, seven, eight, and nine snakes from the center of the track's layout, giving way to a left-right combination of 90-degree corners 10 and 11. Turn 12 is the last tight bend in the circuit, and the remaining four corners are fast sweeping segments closing the loop at top speed.
