One of our customers (Joe B) has a 2021 C8 Corvette Z51, who has been tracking it off and on the last 18 months. Joe has added AP brakes (just to extend bad and rotor wear), a track alignment, and some stock sized 220 treadwear Goodyear Supercar 3 tires, otherwise it is stock.
Terry was driving the Vorshlag C6 Corvette and '23 BRZ earlier this day at Motorsport Ranch Cresson on the 1.7 CCW course, to do some testing on each. Joe offered to let us take some laps, so having never driven a C8 this was a great new experience! In 4 laps we managed a 1:21.0, a 1:21.2, and a 1:20.8, with some slipping and sliding. Due to the bouncy nature of the front end, this C8 (at least) seems like it would benefit greatly from some better dampers, to stop the hop-hop-hopping through every corner.
The DCT transmission is magical and the corner exit traction is second to none - which is there this car excelled. Hopefully after Joe upgrades to some proper "fast" 200TW tires we will get another change to make some laps. Thanks for the opportunity, Joe!
