My first ever visit to NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green KY. I attended with MVP who I've run with before at Road America. This video was the 11th session of the weekend and the tires faded very quickly after lap 2. Overall, an amazing time with lap times that were more fun than fast. My new motto.
Conditions: Cold morning ~40 degrees. 64 degrees, sunny and light breeze. Absolute perfect weather for the track.
Equipment of the day: 5 track day old Michelin Pilot Sport 4S ZP (runflats) which are stock on the C8 Z51 cars. I was considering (ie, should probably have) switching to a sticker set of Hoosier R7's but decided to run a 5th day on the PS4S'. If you're more familiar with NCM that I am, you'll know that I have much to learn regarding line and braking, so tossing on the Purple Crack might have been pushing my luck lol.
I ran the usual G-Loc R12's and the complexity and radius of NCM ate the rear set by mid-day (1.5 total days before they were gone). Great pad but they wear fast. Luckily they are cheap.
Driving: Outstanding group of drivers. As it was my first day, I registered for the intermediate group (good move). Fast and courteous, not one issue all day except for someone who misunderstood a black flag for a red flag I think.
Event Organization: Excellent as always with MVP.. Mark runs a tight ship and I like that.
Running mod list: ‘Wolfpaq 3.0’ is a 2022 C8 Corvette Z51 and has magnetic shocks/PTM. Mods from ‘Factory Stock’: Lowered ¾” front and back on Paragon collars, GM-spec track alignment, GM brake ducts (now removed) Girodisc rotors front/rear, G-Loc R12 track pads front/rear and SRF flush. 5 track day old Michelin PS4S ZP (runflats) were on for this lap. It's really a great tire for being stock, but they were a lot better the day before (track day 4) so now I know their limit.
