Let the excuses roll in... better luck next time!
What an interesting weekend, I thought the car was coming into the track as the most prepped it had ever been... That is mostly true, but still ran into a few issues along the way.
First time running CW config and I hadn't run west in ~5 years so my first few laps were interesting to say the least, this lap was during that session.
Unfortunately my timer was having some issues and while trying to diagnose that issue, I got very few full hot laps recorded as I would pull in to pit after noticing it was not logging my data(eventually figured out how to create my own map with the gps on track and got it sorted by the end of the day...) This was one of ~6 or 7 full laps I was able to drive and record and the rest I was caught in traffic.
After that lap I had some splitter woes, one of my cables came loose at the end of the session as you can hear at the end under braking, the next session it snapped... Tried to zip tie it and that caused more issues where I couldnt go above 85 mph without severe buffeting and ultimately I ended up removing the aero the following day which was a full rain day, so no flyers there.
I know there were faster laps / segments / predictive's but trying to diagnose the splitter and not have a failure on track caused me to pull off track and lose time. The track was also damp in some of the high speed corners and I was holding back due to people getting stuck in the mud nearly every session and having to get towed out. I was not about to be one of those guys and dig a hole in the mud with my splitter and cause more issues.
Until next time! Planning for Buttonwillow CW13 on the 31st if I can get my splitter back up to race shape.
