What an amazing track! My first time at Oregon Raceway Park, and I can say it definitely won't be my last. Even with the 1100mi round trip to get there, it was totally worth it.
This is my best lap of the day, and if you're familiar with ORP you can probably pick out 100 mistakes, but I felt like I did a pretty decent job of learning a brand new track and being somewhat proficient by the end of the day. This lap was from session 3 of 5, just before lunch. In my later sessions I made some big improvements (especially in T7, which ended up being my nemesis along with T14) but as my brain started to fade I wasn't able to piece together complete laps without mistakes and my times never improved. I'm confident that even with this exact setup I could shave off another 2 seconds with more track time.
CAR:
Stock NA8 ‘95 Miata. Megan Racing coilovers, Drift Cave rollbar, Hawk Blue’s, RE71R’s, alignment by Larry Oka Racing.
Side note: I'm now realizing I have 17 heat cycles on these RE71R's and they're still going strong! I just rotated them for the first time prior to this event.
