This was my first time at Sebring in my Corvette and my first event with Chin Track Days. As such they put me in Novice. This is from the open session at the end of the day when I finally got some open track. The car is stock except for Billy Boat axle back exhaust and Goodyear eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires. There aren't many options for tires for Corvettes so I reached out to Sam Strano of Stranoparts.com. I told him I wanted a 200 treadwear tire to do Time Trials and AutoX with. He told me about the Supercar 3's. I had never heard of them but Sam knows his stuff so I ordered them up. I also had an alignment done per his advice. This is the best handling Corvette I have ever driven. Thanks again Sam! He also suggested brake pads but I wanted to see how the stock pads held up (I was cheap). The brakes did ok. It was a cool day (upper 60's) and the pedal only started to get soft at the end of my last session. Most likely it was the cheap Dot4 brake fluid I put in, in a pinch. Stopping power and modulation are great for a stock pad.The car handled absolutely brilliant in my opinion. The balance of the car is great. For a stock car I was blown away! I know I need to smooth out some of my inputs and clean up some of my lines ( You can hear me yell at myself when I blow turn 16 two laps in a row. Grrr) but the car is fantastic!
