Today was a hot day, but Spokane County Raceway was still fast and a lot of fun. This was my 3rd day at this track, the last one was a year ago. While I have mostly figured out my way around the track at a good pace (personal best is 1:37.09 set today), I feel I still have a lot of refining and cleaning up to do. Since I don't visit this track often, its a slow learning curve.
My oil temps got up to 284 degrees F on this session so I started to short shift into 4th after T8, into 5th before getting onto the front straight and carrying 5th through T1 and 4th through T2 (instead of 4th and 3rd). This allowed me to bring oil temps to under 280 each lap. But occasionally clumsied up my lines and was a touch slower.
Other than that, this session was pretty consistent in terms of lap times and most laps were 1:38's.
