Audio got messed up, I accidentally changed a setting and it caused the mic to record nothing at all, I'm dumb.
CMP 2023, competing in TT3 @ 3901 lbs, running a ballast +50 lbs to make weight. First time running Hoosier A7 for time trial and what a difference it makes, much more grip than R7 tires. I've never ran A7's before and I missjudged the grip in a few places. The kink can take more speed so can the entry to the carrousel. Miata cost me a bit of time in addition to the yellow flag at turn 1. There is more time out there.
The official time from the transponder is a 1:37.628, my AIM 2 Solo has the start/finish a bit before the actual start/finish. NASA decided to put me in TTU for this event for unknown reasons. My assumption is that I only ran one TT session the entire weekend and there was no impound on that session. The rules do state that for a record to be valid you have to weigh in after the session which makes perfect sense. I did not know I had the record or what the record even was prior to this session. Current record is 1:38.1 by Scott Perkins.
Because of the new Hoosier A7's I just did the Sunday session because I had to put in the first heat cycle in the tires. Did not run Saturday. Special thanks to my buddy Allen for getting these tires for me.
***Update***
NASA has decided to switch my lap to "TTU" even though I had the proper documentation to run TT3 and I did nothing wrong. One of the competitors complained about my lap being "too fast" and since there was no impound on my session there is no way to verify my weight for that lap. This is not against the rules as there was no impound during the session. Instead of bringing up this issue during the day it was done behind my back and I was switched to TTU after the fact. I don't agree with this decision and I wish I would have been contacted prior to this update. I was also told that "this is going to place a cloud of suspicion over you at future NASA-SE TT events". Again, I did nothing wrong and no issues where brought up while I was at the track, I stayed all day Sunday until the last session. Also no one from NASA reached out to me at any point, I had to reach out to them to get a response. I've ran TT with NASA all year and have never had an issue like this before.
My engine is stock from the factory, I don't run any flat tune that other competitors run to take advantage of the rules, I also have no Aero. The TT3 record for this track is just slow, in fact it's slower than the TT4 record.
