I do have more important data to share with you.
I run the last 2 weekends in BUTTONWILLOW with 2 different tires.
Goodyear 3R. And RE-71
So..what is the fastest tire? What is the more consistent? Which one wear better?
Car :
2018 pp1 10speed auto. FP shocks pair with BMR springs. Bmr sway bar front. 350R back
Ferodo pads on AP RACING rotors with oem system
June 30
Goodyear 305mm on 19x11 squared
July 6
Re71 285mm on 19x11 squared (limited by the time trial class)
Timing
June 30
3R 305mm 3R ( with 78-85f )out
1. 56. 3
July 6
285mm re 71 ( with 85-90f out)
1. 56. 6

Personal impression
I know the test is not perfectly equal but this can add additional info to how the tires performed.
3R ,helped also by the larger Section, seems better on braking with more stop power and zero understeer. The medium setup of bmr is a great combo (i think i can Go stiffer too) . the tire appear to be (more?) predictable.
Re71 i didn't have the same "good feeling" that i had with the 3R. Understeer was there often and on turn 1(90° left from 120 to 60) i had difficulty on turning the car.
HOWEVER.
timing with re71 was obtained on lap 7 session 1( and replicated session 2 on first hard lap) with almost 10f outside temp more than 3R. And despite the higher temp and 20mm less rubber timing was just .3sec slower.
Wearing is important in both tires and 3R seems to wear more uniform than re71 Wich were more melted during the day especially on Front right (while usually the beat here is on the front left..maybe sway bar too stiff for 285 ?)
3R has only 5/32 tread so i don't think you can get more than 4 or 5 trackdays.
CONCLUSION
They are definetely at the top in terms of performance.
My time (excluding the incredible Ben and his GT4) was 5th overall with many cars on slicks.
Re71 seems a better timetrial tire.
3R gives you more feedback during the drive but I suspect is because the larger size. It is little more predictable.
I know many say re71 are better for a single lap battle but i did my best lap on lap7 (after 2 cooldown lap)
Or maybe
"After my car spoke with her Superhero She felt more motivated :) (picture attached)
Hope this could help to open a nice discussion on this topic
I'd like to know your thoughts on this.
