The baseline track journey for the GT4 arrives and ends at @thunderhillracewaypark.
Huge shoutout to @porschefremont for inviting me out for an amazing day at the track with the Porsche gang! This has elevated my owner experience to a new level despite the early problem I had with stock break pads.
Having been away from this track for almost a full year, I spent the morning sessions finding my rhythms. Although the track got a bit too hot and greasy as the the day went on and the tires were on their last legs, I was able to lay down a few 2:02s (Cyclone) in my last session, matching my first session’s lap time when condition was much more optimal.
Car’s setup was unchanged from Sonoma as this was literally two days after (two track days in three days is how we do it😆). I turned off ESC but the car was still cutting power sliding out of corners with the slip angle I was getting (lost half a second in one corner😭). Hopefully I can eliminate this issue with a proper setup.
It was absolutely mesmerizing to be able to park the car on the front straight for a photo shoot, and the best part was getting to meet and know the awesome people that made this one for the books!
Car is finally getting some mods to address the limitations for the next ones.
Car is modified with aftermarket rotors and pads due to stock ones warping. Alignment is unchanged from factory.
